Wife Of Nigerian Footballer, Olanrewaju Kayode Gives Husband 24 Hours To Retract Paternity Fraud Claim, Threatens Legal Action
Ezinne Dora Kayode, the wife of Nigerian footballer Kayode Olanrewaju, has expressed her readiness to approach the court for remedy if her husband fails to retract his allegation of paternity fraud.
There are viral reports that their three sons were fathered by a cleric.
The footballer earlier reportedly alleged he conducted DNA tests on the children and the results showed none of them belonged to him.
The names of the three children are withheld because they are minors.
Kayode, a former Manchester City player who is currently playing at Turkish club Gençlerbirliği maintained his wife was not faithful during their marriage and this was why she birthed those children for another person, not him.
He accused his wife of lying about her age and allegedly having an affair with Pastor Tobi Adegboyega.
Several reports online alleged that the three children belonged to the pastor.
Reacting to the allegations in a letter posted on her Instagram page written by her lawyer, Dora denied the paternity fraud and maintained that no DNA tests were ever conducted on them.
She, therefore, demanded an immediate retraction from her husband and threatened to approach the court for remedies in case of default from her husband.
The letter written by her lawyers on her behalf reads: “It has come to our client’s attention that since May 24, 2024, various blogs and online platforms have been disseminating salacious stories about alleging results of a DNA reveal that none of the three children born during your marriage to our client belong to you.
“This scandalous and defaming story has spread rapidly, causing severe embarrassment to our client and children. Our client has reason to believe that these baseless, humiliating allegations were contrived and strategically planted by you across various media outlets with the malicious intent of tarnishing her reputation and causing irreparable harm to innocent children.
“In light of the gravity of the situation, we hereby demand that within 24 hours of receipt of this letter, you issue a public disclaimer on all your social media platforms, prominently stating that no such DNA test was ever conducted on the children and the purported test result is completely false. This disclaimer must be prominently displayed on your Instagram and any other relevant accounts to ensure maximum visibility and reach.
“Failure to comply with this demand will leave our client with no choice but to notify the Court and seek full custody of the children in the ongoing divorce proceedings. We trust that you will act swiftly and responsibly to rectify this egregious situation.”
On her Instagram page, Dora also alleged that her husband had been humiliating her and the children.
She said, “Honestly, I am so tired of this man’s nonsense, and it has to stop now. I knew he was not mentally stable when he pulled out a knife on me some months ago, but to go as far as ruining the lives of innocent kids is way too far. Kayode, I didn’t think you would go that low.
“I have kept quiet on all the rumours you have been spreading because they are baseless, childish, and false. But do you include innocent children? No, now I must speak.
“I have never sold any of my properties or cars and given the proceeds to any pastor, bishop, or imam in this world. In fact, all the rumours this mentally disturbed young man, Kayode, is sharing online are all false.”
“Olarenwaju Ayobami Kayode, my silence is enough. Don’t ever drag my kids into your web of lies. I urge you to provide the result of the DNA to the public and the hospital where it was conducted, as we are willing to give you the DNA. You traumatised my kids by detaining us in DSS custody,” she added.
