Why I Gave Up Amala and Other Heavy Nigerian Foods – Olamide

Renowned Nigerian rapper, Olamide Gbenga Adedeji, popularly known as Olamide Baddo, has opened up about his decision to stop eating Amala and other heavy local dishes, saying he has adopted a healthier diet.
In a candid interview with YouTuber Korty EO, released on Sunday, August 3, the YBNL boss said traditional Nigerian meals, though once enjoyable, often left him feeling heavy and sluggish.
“I don’t eat Amala; it makes me too full,” he said, noting that he now prefers lighter and more nutritious options that boost his energy levels.
“I’m not a big food person,” he added. “I eat a lot of vegetables. But I can kill for broccoli. I love broccoli, sea bass fish, lamb chops, and even caviar. Those are light meals.”
