University student allegedly passes away in her bed due to hunger

A university student has gone viral after an alleged post revealed that she passed away on her bed due to hunger.

The post, shared on X (formerly Twitter), was made by a user who claimed to have knowledge of the situation.

The user, while announcing the tragic news, stated that the student, whose photo was included, died from starvation in her bed.

He wrote, โ€œThis university student died in her bed due to hunger. Many others are on the verge. Hunger, malnutrition, skipping meals, abdominal ulcers, and even death. 95% of @Makerere students go without meals because they canโ€™t afford them. We are facing a silent humanitarian crisis at @kyambogou, @Makerere, and other universities in Uganda.โ€

The post has sparked widespread concern, with many individuals taking to the comments section to express their thoughts and share similar observations.

See some reactions below:ย

@RiseUpAcholi: โ€œDeath of these children needs to be investigated. Hunger cannot kill a university student with a parent or guardian. Even those on government scholarship have got homes where they come from. We must understand whatโ€™s killing these children without blaming hunger.โ€

@SuunaKing_James: โ€œUnfortunately you spend most of your time fighting homosexuals when serious people are busy fighting to have a govt that works for everyone. May her soul rest in peace.โ€

@mugabekash: โ€œThey have food, but theyโ€™re too lazy to cook. We parents send them food, but they canโ€™t cook for themselves. They want to order from KFC every day; thatโ€™s their problem.โ€

@SamuelOker: โ€œWhen you ear bodaboda men say you can chew a university gal just for a kikomando what comes in your minds and what could be the driving factor ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿคท๐Ÿคท hunger and the authority are silent about it ๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿ˜”yet they know.โ€

@KasimagwaI980: โ€œHunger is happening at campus in uganda most especially government sponsored students. This government doesnโ€™t take it as an emergency because they feel that these students support opposition.โ€
