Tiwa Savage: My Son Is the Only True Love I’ve Ever Known

Nigerian music star Tiwatope Omolara Savage, popularly known as Tiwa Savage, has shared personal insights about her experience with love, revealing that at 45, the only true love she has ever felt is the bond she shares with her son, Jamil Balogun.

Speaking during an interview with Zeze Millz, the singer reflected on her past relationships and acknowledged that they were largely driven by infatuation rather than genuine emotional connection.

“I don’t think I’ve ever experienced real love apart from my son,” she admitted. “Looking back at my relationships, I realize it wasn’t love—I was just infatuated. At the time, I thought it was love, but now I know better.”

She continued, “I’ve never had that soulmate experience. I’ve tried, again and again, but it just hasn’t happened.”

Tiwa’s romantic life has often played out in the public eye. In 2013, she tied the knot with Tunji Balogun, also known as TeeBillz, in a lavish traditional ceremony in Lagos followed by a white wedding in Dubai. TeeBillz also served as her manager.
