Tinubu Bow To Pressure, To Visit Benue Over Continued Killing

President Bola Tinubu has announced plans to visit Benue State on Wednesday, in response to the continued killings of residents by suspected Fulani herders.

The President made this known on Monday during the commissioning of the Greater Abuja Water Supply Network (Loops 1, 2, 5 & 6) in the Federal Capital City (FCC).

“While I extend my heartfelt sympathy to the people of Benue, I have spoken with the governor, state leaders, and residents, urging them to accept our condolences and to make conscious efforts to maintain peace and unity,” Tinubu stated.

He emphasized the importance of national cohesion, saying, “I have always maintained that Nigeria is one large family, living under the same roof in different rooms. Our diversity should be a source of strength and prosperity, not division. We must learn to manage our anger and frustrations constructively.”

The President concluded by confirming his decision to reschedule his engagements in order to personally visit Benue on Wednesday.
