This Senatorial District is sure one of the zones to watch out for in the 2019 General Elections. And the reason is not just because it serves as the biggest zone in Anambra State with more towns and polling units but precisely due to the calibre of candidates it parades.
The Candidates
Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah (YPP)

Dr. Nnamdi Uba (APC)

Chief Christian Uba (PDP)

Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu (APGA)

These are persons who have paid their dues politically in the State and have been around for a while…hence, I wouldn’t want to dwell on their political sagacity cum prowess but to look at the man I believe has what it takes to benefit the zone.
The Man Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah
Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, Ebubechukwu-Uzor as he is fondly called is an indigene of Nnewi, in Nnewi North Local Government of the State.

He is a philanthropist per excellence, an oil magnate, a technocrat, a sports administrator, human capacity developer, a publisher and a youth builder.
Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah has greatly impacted on the zone in the areas of human capital/youth development, sports development, infrastructure and massive philanthropy.
He is reputed to be building single handedly a Catholic Cathedral in Nnewi, and he is the first private citizen to be doing this in sub Sahara Africa without being a political office holder. He has also extended same to the Anglican Communion by helping them to buy back the Anglican Bishop’s Court and donated brand new jeeps to all the Anglican Bishops in the State.

He has built a World Class Football Stadium in the Zone and this benefits the entire State which otherwise, cannot boast of such. He is reputed to be highly involved in Youth Exchange Programmes and Sports Tourism with his frequent sponsorship of young people on overseas trips, where over 200 youths have benefited.

His philanthropy knows no bounds and has been felt across the length and breadth of the nation and not just in his zone of Anambra South.

His Capital Oil and Gas has seen to the employment of many Nigerians, and has risen more than once to help cushion the effects of oil racketeers and oil catel who create emergency fuel scarcity so as benefit from the confusion that follows.

His Football Club “FC Ifeanyi Ubah” (Anambra Warriors) has become the darling team of Ndi Igbo especially Anambrarians who were worried after the unceremonious exit of top clubs like Gabros, Udoji and Jasper United from top flight football. This club in her short stint have brought both glamour and glory to the State and Anambra South Zone in particular.

Comrade Emmanuel Obieze

Truly, and for want of space we won’t easily exhaust his achievements in very key sectors where he has played major roles…be it in TAN; Handshake Across the Niger; Afa Igbo Efuna;  1Family, 1Footballer initiative; Igbo bu Igbo and so many others.
All the above cannot be said of the other candidates who are in this race with him, as all of them put together haven’t impacted on the zone or state, even to the tune of 20% of what Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah has done.
I call on all Anambra Southerners to queue behind him to further deliver more dividends to the zone and the State at large. His ideas and experiences in very core areas of the nation’s life will be an added advantage in legislation.
The movement to deliver Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah should be a collective one as he stands above his fellow contestants, except one wants to further convince us otherwise by stating how they have impacted on the Zone and State better than he has done.
Ndi Anambra South, wouldn’t you rather want a bold and courageous representation ladened with massive impact?
Let’s Go Make A Senator!
