The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has unveiled a step-by-step guide to help students seamlessly monitor the status of their loan applications on its official portal. The new guide is aimed at improving transparency and easing access to critical updates about loan disbursement directly to tertiary institutions.

According to the infographic released by NELFUND, students can follow these four simple steps:

1. Log in to the NELFUND Portal

To begin, students are to visit https://portal.nelf.gov.ng and log in using their registered email and password.

2. Navigate to the Loans Section

After logging in, students should click on the “Loans” option in the menu tab. This section displays all the details and the current status of any loan application submitted.

3. Check Your Loan Status

The dashboard provides a history of all loan applications. If the loan has been approved and disbursed, it will be marked as “Disbursed.” To view more detailed information, users can click the “View” option.

4. Download Proof of Disbursement

Students can then download the disbursement confirmation by clicking the “Download” button. This document serves as official proof of payment and can be presented to the institution.
