Remi Tinubu Honoured with Chieftaincy Title in Ikorodu

Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to the well-being of Nigerians after receiving the chieftaincy title of Iya Oba of Ikorodu in Lagos State on Saturday.

The honour was conferred by the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabir Shotobi, as part of activities marking his 10th coronation anniversary, which began on August 2. Mrs Tinubu was represented at the event by the wife of the Lagos State Deputy Governor, Oluremi Hamzat.

Expressing gratitude, she described the title as both a personal honour and a call to service, noting its cultural significance and the responsibility it carries.

“Ikorodu holds a special place in the heart of Lagos and has produced generations of industrious people,” she said, while commending Oba Shotobi’s decade of leadership marked by peace, progress, stability, and the preservation of cultural heritage.
