Parents trooped to the Federal Government Girls’ College (FGGC) Bwari on Saturday to withdraw their children as security fears heightened around the Abuja suburb.

Outside the school gate, anxious families were seen carrying luggage, helping their daughters pack, and making arrangements to leave immediately. Many students — some still in their uniforms — loaded their belongings into cars, while others assisted friends in gathering their items.

The evacuation followed the federal government’s directive on Friday ordering the immediate closure of 47 Federal Unity Colleges across the country, including FGGC Bwari. The order was issued through a circular signed by the Director of Senior Secondary Education, Binta Abdulkadir.
