PBAT Media Centre denies alleged distribution of buses for 2027 campaign

The President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (PBAT) Media Centre has refuted claims that President Tinubu is distributing buses ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement, the Centre said the initiative being circulated online was solely undertaken by the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, an independent support group with no involvement from the President or the Presidency.

It explained that the Renewed Hope Ambassadors are one of many voluntary groups that have backed Tinubu since his campaign and have consistently carried out empowerment programmes that promote the Renewed Hope agenda and support ongoing reforms.

The Centre noted that while public reactions to the recent activity are understandable, the enthusiasm of devoted supporters should not be misinterpreted or politicized. It added that such groups have executed similar initiatives long before the current economic climate.

For context, the PBAT Media Centre highlighted what it described as key gains of the Tinubu administration: GDP growth at 3.98 percent in the last quarter; inflation eased to 16 percent; over 700,000 beneficiaries under the students’ loan scheme within 20 months; and more than ₦30 billion disbursed in consumer credit to strengthen purchasing power.

It also referenced improved foreign reserves now above 46 billion dollars, major infrastructure projects across all states including the Lagos Calabar Coastal Highway, Sokoto Badagry Highway and Calabar Abuja Highway, alongside the full rehabilitation of Murtala Muhammed International Airport. Reforms in the passport and aviation sectors were also cited.

The Centre acknowledged rising terrorist attacks in Northern Nigeria but said the administration is confronting national security challenges “head on.”
