Okonjo-Iweala receives honorary doctorate from Georgetown university
The George Town University School of Foreign Service has honoured the Director-General of the World Trade Organisation, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, with Doctor of Humane Letters Honoris Causa in Washington, United States.
Okonjo-Iweala shared photos of the award on her X.com handle on Sunday.
The WTO boss expressed her joy in showcasing the achievements of the WTO and uplifting the spirits of young graduates, who are the future of the world, especially during these challenging times.
The President of Georgetown University, DeGioia, along with the Dean of the School of Foreign Service, Joel S. Hellman, Professor of the Practice of Development, Shanta Devarajan, and Vice President for Institutional Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Rosemary Kilkenny were all present at the award ceremony.
Okonjo-Iweala’s post read, “A great honour to be awarded an Honorary Doctorate degree of Doctor of Humane Letters Honoris Causa by the #Georgetown University School of Foreign Service today in Washington DC.
