The Labour Party Presidential Candidate in Nigeria’s 2023 election, Peter Obi, has joined other world leaders in congratulating U.S. President-Elect Donald Trump on his recent electoral victory.
In a statement released by his media aide, Ibrahim Umar, Obi praised the American people for the orderly conduct of the election, commending U.S. electoral officials and citizens alike for upholding democratic values.
According to the statement, Obi expressed hope that Trump’s presidency would strengthen democracy worldwide and promote peace.
“Nigeria’s Labour Party leader and former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi extends his congratulations to the newly elected 47th President of the United States, Donald Trump,” the statement reads.
