Man Kills Friend Over Girlfriend in Kwara

A 25-year-old man, Hammed Tunde, has been allegedly stabbed to death by his friend, identified as Gafar, during an argument over a woman in the Oja Gboro area of Ilorin, Kwara State.

The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday evening while the two friends were buying sugarcane. Eyewitnesses said their disagreement over a girlfriend escalated, prompting 21-year-old Gafar to stab Tunde in the chest.

Tunde was rushed to a hospital but was confirmed dead on arrival, while the suspect fled the scene and remains at large.

Police spokesperson SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi confirmed the incident, adding that the suspect’s family had also fled their home. Commissioner of Police Adekimi Ojo has ordered a discreet investigation and assured that efforts are underway to apprehend the suspect.
