Loan apps are ‘agents of the devil’ — Pastor Enenche

Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Dr. Paul Enenche, has cautioned Nigerians against using online loan apps, describing them as “agents of the devil working in covenant with the spirit of debt.”
Speaking during Sunday’s service in Abuja, Enenche lamented the increasing cases of depression and suicide linked to the activities of loan platforms in the country.
“Many people are lured by the promise of quick financial relief. But once they fall into the trap, they face harassment, intimidation, and embarrassment, which sometimes drive them into depression or even suicide,” he said.
He further noted that borrowers are frequently bombarded with threats, persistent calls, and messages from lenders. “Some of these platforms even go as far as publishing defamatory content and fake obituaries online to disgrace debtors,” he added.
Enenche urged Christians to shun the lure of easy money, warning that such financial shortcuts are spiritually harmful. “These things are demonic covenants with debt, and no child of God should get entangled with them,” he declared.
