Lawyer to Sue Gov Sanwo-Olu for 3-Year Block on X
Lagos-based human rights lawyer, Festus Ogun, has announced plans to take legal action against Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for blocking him on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) for the past three years.
In a post shared on his X handle, Ogun stated that he would be heading to court this July to challenge what he described as a violation of his constitutional right to freedom of expression.
He argued that a public official blocking citizens on social media undermines democratic engagement and infringes on the rights of residents to hold leaders accountable.
