LASU Deny Admission Racketeering, Say Merit and Lagos Quota Still Dey Guide 2025/2026 Process

Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, don finally break silence on di hot gist wey dey fly up and down say dem dey sell admission slots for 2025/2026 session.

Di school sharply deny di allegation, talk say na pure merit and Lagos indigenes preference dey run their system – no be money matter.

Madam Oluwayemisi A. Thomas-Onashile, LASU Deputy Registrar and Coordinator for Information and Public Relations, drop di statement wey clear di air. She talk say di institution don turn victim of its own success as more than 70,000 candidates rush apply, but dem capacity fit carry only less than 20%.

According to LASU law, di university dey follow 70:30 admission policy (Lagos indigenes vs others). Meaning say after merit list, dem go give Lagosians extra chance before dem look other states.

Still, wahala dey because frustrated applicants dey shout online say “highest bidders” dey get admission pass. LASU talk say na scam, because only the Vice Chancellor get final admission power. Any staff wey dey collect money dey chop people desperation.
