Kwara orders temporary closure of schools in five LGAs following bandit attacks

The Kwara State Government has directed the temporary shutdown of schools across five local government areas in response to recent bandit attacks.

The decision follows an attack on a Christ Apostolic Church in the Eruku community of Ekiti LGA on Tuesday, Nov. 18, which left three people dead and several worshippers abducted.

Ibraheem Abdullateef, Senior Special Assistant on Communications to the Governor, confirmed the closure, listing the affected LGAs as Ifelodun, Ekiti, Irepodun, Isin, and Oke Ero.

“Combined security forces have begun operations to restore calm and reinforce safety in the affected communities,” Abdullateef said.
