Key ADC members to join APC next week — Party Chairman

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yiltwatda, has announced that prominent members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) will officially join the APC next week, revealing that all necessary arrangements have been finalized.

This development came as the APC in Plateau State unanimously endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in 2027, citing his recognition of minority groups and his inclusive approach to governance.

The endorsement took place on Friday during an enlarged stakeholders’ meeting held at the Crest Hotel in Jos, Plateau State, which was attended by top party leaders and members.

Speaking at the event, Professor Yiltwatda praised APC members in the state for their loyalty and commitment, noting that the recent wave of defections to the ruling party reflects the growing confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership and the tangible progress recorded in his first two years in office.

He disclosed that many politicians from other parties are also preparing to join the APC, adding that the party has maintained its integrity and unity, making it more attractive to new members.

“I can confidently say that by next week, we will be receiving notable figures from the ADC. It’s not only PDP members who are joining us—many from the ADC have indicated interest to either return or newly align with our party,” Yiltwatda said. “Some have completed their screening, and we’ll unveil them soon. Among them are current and former governors as well as National Assembly members.”

He commended President Tinubu for being a true ally of minority groups, particularly in Plateau State, saying, “Mr. President has given the minority a voice and proved his critics wrong. We are proud to support his re-election in 2027.”

Yiltwatda assured new entrants that they would enjoy the same rights and privileges as existing members, emphasizing that the APC promotes fairness and inclusivity.

He lauded the president’s performance and said Plateau and Nigeria at large have every reason to support his re-election bid.

The meeting ended with a unanimous voice vote, led by former APC Deputy National Secretary Barrister Festus Fuanter, officially endorsing President Tinubu for a second term.
