JUST IN: LASU Suspends Entrepreneurship Programme for Full-Time Students
The Lagos State University (LASU) has announced the suspension of admissions into the Comprehensive Entrepreneurship Programme for full-time regular students (Stream 2) for the 2024/2025 academic session.
This decision was made following extensive deliberations by the University Senate during its meeting on Friday, 15th November 2024. The Senate cited two key reasons for this move:
1. Reorganisation of the Programme: The Comprehensive Entrepreneurship Programme is being restructured to enhance its relevance and better align it with industry demands, global standards, and practices.
2. Curriculum Update: The university plans to update the programme’s curriculum to include skills that improve students’ employability and career prospects in the rapidly evolving job market.
Changes for 2024/2025 Admissions
All candidates admitted for the 2024/2025 academic session under the Full-Time Degree with Comprehensive Entrepreneurship Programme (Stream 2) will automatically be transferred to the Full-Time Degree Programme (Stream 1). The latter does not include the entrepreneurship component.
Furthermore, these candidates will only be required to pay the fees applicable to the Full-Time Degree Programme (Stream 1).
Impact on Returning Students
Current students enrolled in the Comprehensive Entrepreneurship Programme (Stream 2) at the 200, 300, 400, and 500 levels will continue the programme as planned until graduation.
