An Abuja Court has sacked Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu as the Candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance-APGA, for Anambra South Senatorial seat.
Dr. Okey Chidolue; a Forensic Accountant and Maritime Lawyer, who was an aspirant of APGA for the Anambra South senate race, has challenged the result of the primary election which has Ukachukwu as the winner of the election.
Responding to the suit, the presiding judge ruled that the primary election that produced Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu was fundamentally flawed for the following reasons; that the delegate list paraded by APGA looks like a job horidly done. That the affidavits of the plaintiff are largely unchallenged and uncontroverted. To that extent, also, the Certificate of Return issued to Ukachukwu was dated 3/10/18, therefore bogus and showed that the winner of the primary election was pre-determined and fraudulently imposed. The court concluded that Prince Ukachukwu should forthwith cease from parading himself as the APGA candidate for Anambra South senatorial seat.
This judgement pending the decision of any appeal to the contrary, implies that APGA has no candidate for the Anambra South senatorial seat.

Dr. Okey Chidolue

Reacting to the decision of the court, Dr. Chidolue said;

“The Judiciary is “The-Last-Man-Standing” of any democratic society. Nigeria is NOT an exception. Today, our judiciary has spoken. And the message that the conduct of political parties are subject to judicial review and scrutiny is unmistakably loud and crystal clear”.
He went further to narrate what transpired on the primary election thus, “After the sordid and perfideous October 3rd, 2018 Anambra South Senate Primary Election at Ekwulobia Township Stadium, as law abiding citizen and loyal card-carrying founding member of our great party, APGA, I refused and resisted the bad temptation of taking the laws into my own hands or throwing away the baby with bath water. I took my case to Court”.
He then thanked his followers and supporters. Speaking he said, “For hundreds of men and women of honor, goodwill and valor who made this trying time bearable, I thank you. And, for the good people of Anambra South, I accept your nomination as your Senate Candidate with immeasurable joy and commitment.
With your support, I will change the ugly narrative of “Legislative Mediocrity” in Anambra South, Let’s go to work”, Dr. Okey Chidolue concluded.
