Chiwetalu Agu refutes death rumours, affirms he is alive and healthy

Veteran Nollywood actor, Chiwetalu Agu, has dismissed circulating rumours of his death, describing them as baseless and misleading.

A viral report had claimed that the actor passed away after battling diabetes and undergoing spine surgery.

Reacting swiftly, Agu shared a video on his Instagram page to reassure fans and colleagues that he is alive, in good health, and not facing any such condition. He expressed disappointment that people easily believe unverified stories, blaming attention-seeking bloggers for spreading the false news.

This is not the first time Agu has been a victim of death rumours. In 2020, similar claims surfaced, which he also debunked while cautioning fans against falling for misinformation.

“All because of likes, views, and comments, a blogger falsely declared me dead, even posting ‘RIP’ with my pictures,” Agu said. “Let me shock you: Chief Chiwetalu Agu Okenmirin’ezoru1 of Etiti Amokwe, Enugu State, is not going to die any time soon. Instead, I will bury my enemies. The one who digs a pit will fall inside it. I will live to carry my grandchildren.”
