Barcelona have reportedly set their sights on Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as a possible replacement for veteran forward Robert Lewandowski, who is expected to depart the club at the end of the season.
According to Catalan outlet *Mundo Deportivo*, the La Liga champions are exploring options to strengthen their attack and view Osimhen as a prime candidate for the role. The club is said to be prioritising the signing of a new striker as part of long-term plans for the 2026/27 season and beyond, amid expectations that this campaign could be Lewandowski’s last in Barcelona colours.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano also confirmed that Barcelona are assessing the market for future strikers.
“There have been reports from Turkey and Spain suggesting that Barcelona are considering Osimhen as one of their striker targets for summer 2026,” Romano said.
“It’s true that the club is studying options for the future. Lewandowski’s contract situation is central to this, as he’s likely to leave when his deal expires. However, Osimhen is not in talks with any club at the moment — Barcelona are only monitoring several players and gathering information, which is routine, not active negotiation.”
