Senate President Godswill Akpabio on Wednesday celebrated the achievements of 11-year-old Miss Cara Victor Antai, who won a bronze medal at the 2025 TeenEagle Global Final 2 held at the University of Surrey, United Kingdom.

During a courtesy visit at his country home in Ukana, Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Akpabio praised the potential of Nigerian youths to excel on the global stage when given proper support. His Special Assistant on Media, Jackson Udom, shared the details in a statement issued in Abuja.

“I congratulate you, my daughter, on this remarkable feat. It proves that Nigerians, when provided with opportunities and encouragement from the relevant agencies, can achieve whatever they set out to do,” Akpabio said. He also commended Cara’s parents, Dr. and Mrs. Antai, for their role in her success, while urging the young medalist to remain committed to hard work.

The competition, which began with online rounds and attracted over 20,000 participants from 69 countries, concluded with the Global Final 2 from July 27 to August 3 at the University of Surrey. Nigeria was represented by eight students — five from NTIC Abuja and three from NTIC Yobe. Competing in the TeenEagle 1 category, which assessed receptive (reading and listening) and productive (writing and speaking) skills, Cara finished 3rd overall (Bronze) and also received a Special Award for Best in Charisma.
