Air Peace Operations Manager Refutes Oshiomhole’s Boarding Denial Claims, Says He Arrived Late and Broke Protocol

The Operations Manager of Air Peace, Ayodeji Adeyemi, has dismissed allegations made by Senator Adams Oshiomhole that he was unfairly denied boarding on a recent domestic flight, stating that the former governor of Edo State arrived late and attempted to bypass airport procedures by climbing onto a baggage conveyor belt.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday, Adeyemi clarified that Oshiomhole failed to check in online and arrived at the airport after the official check-in deadline for the 6:30 a.m. flight.
“Check-in closes 45 minutes before departure, by 5:45 a.m., and Senator Oshiomhole arrived after that time. This has been confirmed, and he did not deny arriving late,” Adeyemi explained.
He further challenged the senator to present evidence of any online check-in, asserting that Air Peace’s system showed no such record.
“I openly challenge the senator to produce a boarding pass showing he checked in online,” Adeyemi said.
According to Adeyemi, the senator attempted to board the aircraft by jumping onto a conveyor belt, an act captured on surveillance footage currently held by the airline.
“That action was a clear attempt to take the law into his own hands,” he said, adding that staff recognized the senator and still attempted to assist him despite his late arrival.
“The supervisor even radioed the aircraft to check if boarding was still possible, but by then, the door had already been shut.”
Addressing Oshiomhole’s claim that other passengers were also mistreated or extorted, Adeyemi accused the senator of coaching two women to support his allegations. He clarified that the women were not scheduled for the disputed June 11 flight, but were booked for the 6:30 a.m. flight on June 12 instead.
“Senator Oshiomhole personally interviewed the two women, urging them to speak about issues they didn’t actually experience. One of them was carrying an infant who didn’t even have a ticket. We have provided documentation to support this,” he stated.
Adeyemi stressed that Air Peace operates under the strict regulations of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and adheres to global aviation standards.
“Every passenger—regardless of status—is subject to the same rules and procedures. There are no exceptions,” he concluded.

Oshiomhole had earlier accused Air Peace of poor treatment and extortion, claiming he and other passengers were denied boarding despite holding valid tickets. Air Peace, however, maintains that the airline acted in accordance with standard operating protocols.
