B/Haram Kills 8 In Fresh Attacks On Adamawa Villages
Suspected Boko Haram insurgents have killed eight people in three villages across Hong Local Government Area (LGA) of Adamawa State.
Local sources confirmed that the attack occurred on Monday night, with the bodies of eight residents recovered, while four other persons remain missing.
One of the sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the assailants targeted Zah, Kijing and Mubang villages, adding that the incident has heightened insecurity in the area during the Christmas season.
Many people believe the number of those killed may be higher than eight, but several houses were destroyed during the Monday night assault,” the source said.
Many residents were also forced to flee their homes for safety.”
However, the Chairman of Hong Local Government Area, Hon. Inuwa Usman Wa’aganda, said he could only confirm the recovery of eight bodies from the affected communities.
“It is true. Boko Haram attacked Mubang, Zah and Kijing villages in Hong. For now, eight corpses have been recovered from the three villages, and four persons are still missing,” he said.
