BREAKING: Osun Governor, Adeleke Announces New Party

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has officially declared the Accord Party as his new political home, setting the stage for his bid for a second term in the 2026 governorship election.

Governor Adeleke made the announcement on Tuesday evening at the Banquet Hall of the Government House, Osogbo, in the presence of top national and state executives of the Accord Party. The declaration, he revealed, comes after weeks of consultations with political stakeholders and leaders across the state.

Adeleke disclosed that he formally joined Accord on November 6, saying the party’s ideology aligns closely with his administration’s focus on citizens’ welfare, workers’ wellbeing, and people-centered governance.

“Stakeholders and residents of Osun State know why we are taking this important step. We intend to pursue a second term on the platform of the Accord Party to complete ongoing delivery of good governance and democratic dividends,” the governor stated.

He described Accord as a party whose philosophy of welfarism resonates with his government’s priorities. According to him, the decision was driven by the need to sustain the positive trajectory of governance witnessed since 2022.
