Gov. Adeleke relaxes 24 hour curfew on Igbajo community to 10 hours

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has reduced the 24 hour curfew earlier imposed on Igbajo to a 10 hour daily restriction following what the government describes as clear improvements in the security situation.

The curfew was introduced days ago after unrest in the community triggered tension and disrupted daily activities. Adeleke said the latest security reports indicate “a gradual return to peace and order.”

He commended community leaders, security agencies, and residents for cooperating with government efforts to stabilise the area. “We are witnessing encouraging signs of calm. However, caution is still required,” he stated.

Despite easing the restriction, the governor directed security agencies to maintain full surveillance and remain on high alert to prevent any resurgence of violence.

The government urged residents to remain peaceful and avoid actions that could undermine ongoing efforts to restore lasting harmony in the community.
