‘Olamide abandoned me after Zazoo’ — Portable sparks new controversy

Controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has stirred up fresh controversy after publicly calling out rapper and music executive Olamide for not inviting him to perform at his recent OVO Wembley Arena show in London.

In a viral video, Portable questioned why he was excluded, claiming Olamide owes part of his international visibility to their blockbuster collaboration, Zazoo. He alleged that despite the song’s success, Olamide has distanced himself from him.

“He didn’t even shoot the Zazoo video with me; he wasn’t beside me in the visuals. I’m the one who gave Olamide international recognition. Zazoo made Olamide. Did I offend him? Why didn’t he call me for his show?” Portable said.

He went on to compare Olamide’s attitude to Davido’s, saying, “Davido wanted to give me a verse. He told me I’m the best in the world and he’s proud of me.”

Portable added that Olamide stopped responding to his messages and never took him to London, unlike British-Nigerian rapper Skepta, who invited him after their Tony Montana collaboration. “Tell Olamide to reply to me so he won’t regret it later,” he warned.

This isn’t the first time Portable has made such assertions. In a November 2024 TikTok live session, he argued that while Olamide supported him, he did not make him famous.

“Yes, he helped me, but I was already trending before that. He didn’t meet me suffering,” he said, adding that Olamide had never reposted him on social media since their collaboration.

Olamide has not responded to the recent outburst. Instead, he has continued to bask in the success of his sold-out OVO Arena performance, where he reminded critics of his enduring fanbase. As the crowd sang his hit tracks word for word—including the 2018 anthem Stupid Love—he remarked, “And they said I don’t have fans anymore…”
