Hilda Baci Begins Record-Breaking Attempt to Cook World’s Largest Pot of Jollof Rice

Celebrity chef and Guinness World Record holder, Hilda Baci, on Friday kicked off her ambitious attempt to prepare the world’s biggest pot of Nigerian jollof rice at Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos.

 

Baci, who famously broke the record for the longest cooking marathon in 2023, is hosting the event under the banner of the “Gino Jollof Festival,” in collaboration with culinary and seasoning brand, Gino.

 

The landmark occasion features a specially constructed pot measuring six metres in both width and height, designed to hold 250 bags of rice.

 

Before the burners were lit, Lead Pastor of Harvesters International Christian Centre, Bolaji Idowu, offered prayers and blessings for Baci’s effort.

Several well-known social media influencers, including Enioluwa Adeoluwa, Tomike Adeoye, Folagade Banks, and Veekee James, were present to lend their support.

The festival has drawn a massive turnout, attracting Gen Zs, millennials, food lovers, and celebrities. Organisers reported that over 20,000 people registered to attend the free public event.

 

Baci has reassured participants that the jollof will be both “amazing and hygienic,” promising a memorable, record-setting experience.
