Tinubu arrives Kaduna to unveil skill institute, hospital, and CNG buses

President Bola Tinubu arrived in Kaduna State on Thursday afternoon, marking the second leg of his ongoing three-state working tour.

The President’s Boeing 737 aircraft landed at the Military Airport in Mando at 1:27 p.m. local time, where he was warmly received by top dignitaries, including Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas; Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin; Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani; and the Emir of Zazzau, Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli.

Also on hand to welcome the President were several governors: Hope Uzodimma (Imo), Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), Monday Okpebholo (Edo), Umar Namadi (Jigawa), AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (Kwara), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi), Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa), and Nasir Idris (Kebbi), along with the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, and other senior government officials.

The President was honoured with a ceremonial guard of honour by the Nigerian Air Force band upon arrival.

During his one-day visit, Tinubu is scheduled to inaugurate several key projects, including the Institute of Skill Acquisition and Development in Riga Chukun, a 300-bed Specialist Hospital at Millennium City, and 100 compressed natural gas (CNG) buses to boost intra-city transportation.

He will later be hosted at a grand civic reception at Murtala Square.

Originally planned for Wednesday, the Kaduna leg of the tour was rescheduled and follows Tinubu’s visit to Benue State, which has been grappling with a wave of violent attacks that have claimed nearly 200 lives.

Ahead of the visit, security has been heightened throughout Kaduna metropolis. Authorities implemented temporary road closures and traffic diversions along Kawo Bridge and Independence Way from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to ensure safety.
