NYSC Silence Sparks Outcry as Call-Up Letters Remain Unreleased on Eve of Orientation Camp Opening

Prospective members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) are in uproar as the NYSC management has maintained a deafening silence amidst the failure to release 2024 Batch B call-up letters just 24 hours before the scheduled opening of orientation camps nationwide.

Frustrated applicants, who have meticulously prepared for their service year, took to social media platforms and gathered at NYSC state offices across the country to express their dismay and seek answers. Many voiced concerns over the lack of communication from NYSC officials, highlighting the distress and uncertainty caused by the sudden delay.

“This silence is unacceptable. We have made plans, traveled long distances, only to be left hanging without any explanation,” said Abdullahi Yusuf, a prospective corp member who spoke with 9jaReporters from Kano, echoing the sentiments of many others affected.

As at the time of filing this report , the scheme haven’t release any memo to this effect. This unprecedented communication blackout has exacerbated tensions among applicants and raised questions about the readiness of NYSC to manage such a critical mobilization process.

As the hours tick down to the scheduled camp opening, anxiety among prospective corp members continues to mount. Some applicants have expressed fears that the delay may jeopardize their chances of participating in the current batch of service mobilization.

In the absence of official communication, rumors and speculations abound, further fueling the frustration and confusion among those affected. The situation underscores the need for transparency and effective communication from NYSC management, especially during critical stages of the mobilization process.

With uncertainty lingering and tensions running high, prospective corp members remain hopeful for a swift resolution and clarity from NYSC officials before the orientation camps open, allowing them to commence their national service as planned.
